The NHL All-star competition is in full swing today. While the skaters compete for the first spot, the occasion calls for a throwback to the time when Dyan Larkin broke the two-decade-old record. Not missing the opportunity to reminisce about the moment, Woodward Sports Network tweeted the video of the iconic time.

Dyan Larkin, 26, was still a teenager when he claimed the title of the “Fastest Skater.” The 19-year-old Larkin completed the lap in 13.172 seconds on the Bridgestone Arena Ice surface in 2016. Doing so he broke the record Mike Granter created in 1996 by finishing the said lap in 13.386 seconds. Larkin broke the record that was created before he was even born, and to date, holds the said record.
