Nikita Kucherov created the headlines on Tuesday after lashing out at rival ice hockey player, Sebastian Aho. In the clash, the Carolina Hurricanes beat Tampa Bay Lightning by 3-2. Notably, it was after the 3rd Hurricanes goal that Kucherov went head to head with the Finnish player, disappointed and frustrated.

Fans were clearly divided over their opinion of the clash that ensued. While some think Kucherov lost his control of the game, others are of the opinion that Sebastian was playing unfairly throughout the game.

Nikita Kucherov lashes out at Sebastian Aho post 3rd Hurricane goal

The defeat was hard to accept for Tampa Bay Lightning and, more so, it was hard for Nikita Kucherov. Kucherov received a penalty for his unruly action.

Kucherov clearly went ahead to hit Sebastian Aho, but was stopped in time by his other teammates. However, his intentions were clear and fans are now disappointed in the star player.

Ice hockey fans flooded Twitter with posts, comments, and hashtags after Kucherov’s outburst. Many have commented that Nikita could not “contain his emotions” which led to him acting out.

“Love Kucherov- but there was nothing good whatsoever about that hit. Nothing.” It was clear that if Sebastian had not backed off, he was at risk of injury.

Fans were quick to call the player immature as well. Notably, Nikita Kucherov won the Hart Memorial Trophy. The NHL wards this trophy to its most valuable player.

According to reports, the Russian player did not handle the press as well after the match. This has led many fans to question his professionalism.

As a result of his actions, Nikita Kucherov was fined $5000, which is the maximum amount allowed. On the other hand, there are also fans who think that Sebastian Aho was not playing fair, therefore, Nikita’s actions were justified.

Was Sebastian Aho in the wrong?

24-year-old Sebastian Aho is the captain of the Carolina Hurricanes. Aho made his debut during the 2016-2017 season with the Carolina Hurricanes.

While the majority have questioned Kucherov’s behavior, there are yet others who think Sebastian Aho was at fault, too.

Tampa Bay supporters have also come to claim their supremacy.

While fans remain divided, it’s safe to say that Nikita Kucherov is going to face some serious consequences for his actions. In conclusion, it will be interesting to watch what happens when the two teams face each other again.
