The 4 Nations Face-Off is just two days away! The “Landmark International Tournament” will see Sweden, Finland, the USA, and Canada lock horns, in what could easily be the new All-Stars game of the future. While all squads are getting their A-game on for the tournament, it seems like Bruins captain Brad Marchand is feeling extra confident that Canada is the team to beat in the upcoming rumble.

Team Canada’s attacking depth is jaw-dropping, to put things in perspective. From Connor McDavid and Nathan MacKinnon to Sidney Crosby and Cale Makar, there’s no dearth of goal-scoring prowess on the team. With a power play that can decimate the opponent’s defensive play, Marchand thinks a few pieces of advice on tackling the team’s attacking spree won’t go amiss by the other camps.

In a post on X by Spittin’ Chiclets from February 10, the Boston star joked about how he would possibly defend against Canada’s power play. “I would probably put three goalies in the net and just let them try to do the job,” he said candidly when asked how he would handle the power play situation. “5 of the best players to play the game are on that power play,” Brad Marchand highlighted how the roster of the team could intimidate anyone who’s playing against them.

And yet, Marchand thinks, as a hockey fan, Canada will supply some thrilling moments at the upcoming tournament, which would be a joy to watch for anyone. Brad said, “Even as a fan of the game, it’s fun to be able to go out there and watch them do their thing, so it’s special,” on how the attacking stars of the team are able to whip up something special for the entire community and not for Canadian fans only.

Looking at the lineup, one would be hard-pressed to think that this is the best batch of players on the ice since Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux played together in 1987. However, while the power play line could be definitely something worth a watch, that’s not the only part of the Canadian side that could make their opponents feel the pressure in the upcoming 4 Nations Face-off. Understandably, Brad Marchand has his reasons to be excited for the tournament.

The entire team boasts some truly scintillating names. Toronto’s Mitch Marner and Florida’s Sam Reinhart will join McDavid in the same line. The Oilers star and Marner are both currently tied in the NHL for fourth place in terms of scoring, having bagged 71 points already. Moreover, people know both stars for their incredible passing skills. But things don’t end there! So who else is fueling Brad Marchand’s high hopes?

Penguins star Sidney Crosby‘s participation in the tournament has been a topic of interest for quite a few days. Thankfully, it seems like he’s got the green flag, and will be lending his skills to the side to form the line alongside Colorado’s MacKinnon and Vegas’ Mark Stone. On top of that, with Drew Doughty’s inclusion in the team, the defensive line also looks spectacular.

We expect to win, and we’re not going to be satisfied with anything but a championship. I think a lot of the guys in here, we feel that pressure, obviously. But that’s what we thrive under,” claimed Doughty when asked about how the team is feeling confident and would be bringing the action to the ice without holding back.
