The Tkachuk brothers just can’t seem to catch a break! A few days ago, Matthew Tkachuk, Brady Tkachuk’s brother, got injured in the lower body and was unable to play the final 12:36 of Team USA’s hard-fought 3-1 win against Canada in the 4 Nations Face-Off. This forced coach Mike Sullivan to bench Matthew for the game against Sweden. And now, Brady’s injury has brought a fresh set of woes to the Tkachuk family and Team USA.

In the live game, Brady Tkachuk went full throttle toward the net, crashing into it with some serious force—just like Sportsnet captured in real-time. And then? Uh-oh. Fans held their breath as he was spotted making his way off the ice, sparking instant concern.

Ottawa Reporter Claire Hanna jumped in with the latest update, saying, “Brady Tkachuk just left USA’s bench and went to the locker room. Looked like his left knee hit the goal post and he was in some discomfort. Spoke with a trainer on the bench, took another shift, then left.” And just like that, worry levels skyrocketed! And guess what? The last time USA and Canada clashed, the Tkachuk brothers turned the ice into their personal fight club!

Within the first three seconds of Team USA’s electrifying 3-1 win over Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off, both brothers threw down the gloves. As soon as that puck hit the ice, Matthew Tkachuk and Brandon Hagel went at it, igniting the Bell Centre like a spark to gasoline. Hagel even played hype man, pumping up the crowd and making the rivalry burn even hotter. But hold up—Brady wasn’t about to let his brother have all the fun.

Before the clock even had time to breathe, he squared up against Bennett, fists flying. A few well-placed shots later, Brady sent Bennett crashing to the ice, proving that the Tkachuk name comes with a whole lot of fight! However, that may have been the last instance of the Tkachuk brothers roughing up opponents together at 4 Nations. “Brady Tkachuk has not returned for USA for the second period. They’re down to 16 skaters to close out the round robin against Sweden. The Bash Brothers are banged up,” NHL insider Frank Seravalli wrote on X.

And guess what? The Tkachuk brothers aren’t the only ones not playing in the game vs Sweden!

Not just Brady Tkachuk, but other players also remain sidelined!

Alright, so Brady Tkachuk’s out, his brother Matthew’s sitting out, and the hits just keep coming for the USA. Just before the game kicked off, Elliotte Friedman announced something on X, that left USA fans in a total panic: “USA will play one short tonight. Kreider/Sanderson for Matthew Tkachuk/McAvoy. Auston Matthews is battling something, so [he] will rest tonight and play Thursday.” And of course, fans weren’t having it. One even posted, “They don’t want me to see him score and I’m mad about it.”

Sure, Matthews hasn’t lit the lamp yet in this tourney, but he has been active, providing an assist in two games. And, he is not unfamiliar with greatness either; the man has scored 30 or more goals in eight seasons and 40 or more goals in six. But wait, there is more to it; he is one of the nine players in NHL history to have recorded more than one 60-goal season. In fact, last year, he fell short of the 70 mark by just one goal!

However, with all these key players out of the game, the USA is really under pressure in the final match against Canada. Losing these stars just before such a crucial game? Yeah, that’s a major concern. These guys are really needed back in action and ready to roll if the USA is to take the championship. What do you think about all these injuries and Brady Tkachuk being added to the list of injured players? Let us know in the comments!
