If you are a Boston Bruins fan in the current NHL season, you might not be having the best days recently. Indeed, the team has lost two games consecutively, and that too in a horrific manner. A few days ago, they lost 2-7 to the Buffalo Sabres, and now at TD Garden, they fall 2-6 to the Winnipeg Jets. The team is also frustrated with these results, especially captain Brad Marchand, whose recent performances on the ice have been questionable according to the community.

The results have been disappointing for the Bruins, and with this loss, the pressure has mounted even more, as the team’s dreams of getting into the Stanley Cup playoffs have been decreasing match by match. This time, too, the fans were more frustrated than before and had no option but to call out the team for their poor performances.

Even though the Winnipeg Jets were the top team to fare during the current NHL season, fans had hoped that the Boston Bruins would at least perform at their home game. However, from the start of the first period, the Jets dominated, with goals coming from Vladislav Namestnikov and Mark Scheifele. However, Bruins captain Brad Marchand opened the quota for his team with a goal in the power play. The score was 1-2 with the pressure on the home team, but the crowd had hope for them.

However, the second period saw no goals from either side, causing the rink to heat up more between the two teams. The start of the third period saw a shorthanded goal from Bruins’ Elias Lindholm. This equalizer was a hope for Boston to score while the Jets were under pressure or take the game to overtime. However, Jets’ Mark Scheifele scored the third goal for his team in the power play, and this was the breaking point for the home team.

Indeed, the Bruins got absolutely destroyed after it, as the Jets’ Nikolaj Ehlers, Parker Ford, and Kyle Connor made the score 2-6. But what were the key takeaways from the match? The Boston Bruins’ captain, Brad Marchand, received not only two minor penalties but also a misconduct during the final period of the game. It raised a ton of questions among the community regarding the frustration that has been piling up in the Bruins’ locker room. But how did the fans of the team react to this loss?

While the fans are disappointed with this performance, what was the take of the team’s coach? Going candid in the post-game interview, Joe Sacco shared his thoughts, stating, “But I mean, you look at the game, we come out to start the third period of that kill, we tie it up, we get a short-handed goal, right? And then, um, you know, for 41 minutes or so, I thought we played okay. We gave up some opportunities, but we had some opportunities too, and then you know for us to just—it’s frustrating because we make it 2-2, they come down, okay, so they score in the power play, it’s 3-2, that happens, but—and we gifted them the fourth goal.”

The coach was present during the game, and he knew the vital parts where the Bruins struggled. Indeed, everything was looking good when the team managed to score an equalizer at the start of the third period. However, things started to crumble for them right after the Jets’ fourth goal. “As an honest Bruins fan for the last 49 years, I can safely say this team is finished! Blow it all up! I just can’t take it anymore. I’m going to take my fandom to the Florida Panthers, a REAL hockey organization who knows how to win. Goodbye, Bruins. Thanks for nothing,” a fan shared their frustration. Another fan wrote, “Might as well put a Twitter user at goalie at this point.”

For the Boston Bruins, their upcoming game against the New York Rangers will be vital. Indeed, they have to secure this victory if they are really keen to grab that Stanley Cup playoff spot, which is something that many teams are chasing. Only time will tell how they will compete against the Rangers.
