Soon after the news was announced, fans came forward to share their opinions. One fan wrote, “The thing about him… He wants to be in Vancouver, he likes the city. He has been seen out on walks with his folks. We need more people like him, that like this city… Have the personal motivation to produce good efforts. Some fans took their time to analyze how the deal is beneficial for both parties. One such fan wrote, “Well this is great value. Canucks could still trade him if they wanted for draft picks. He is even more trade-able with this contract. Good all around. Plus he wants to be here and that is not always the case. This will help to keep Petey happy as well.”

Another happy fan added, “Good news for a change! I’m so happy to hear this.” Suggesting the next move to the management, another user wrote, “Well that’s a great signing. Now trade Horvat and Boeser so that fan base has some faith 🙏🏾”
