Brady Tkachuk—there is no way you can forget that name easily. Despite being substituted in the game against Sweden and not taking the practice on Wednesday because of illness, he never had any doubt about it–he was going to wear the jersey for the 4 Nations finals. And boy, did he show up. In the glare of the spotlight, with USA and Canada on the pitch facing each other, Tkachuk did not take long to make his presence felt. Canada scored through Nathan MacKinnon first, but the Americans replied immediately. With just over three minutes left in the first period, Auston Matthews made some more magic behind Canada’s net and fed Tkachuk for an easy tap-in goal by Jordan Binnington.
That was the third goal of the tournament in his Tkachuk’s account, and with the sound of the cheering crowd, he savored it all. When he was asked about the electric moment, he was calm and only said that he has never felt anything like that, “I’ve never experienced anything like that. That’s 20 minutes of hockey. We got 40 to go.” And now, after that ice-cold performance, American fans are aiming higher. The hype is no longer only with his performance in the tournaments but with his potentiality. Throughout the match, the internet went wild and fans were pleading for Tkachuk to leave the Ottawa Senators.
Commentator John Buccigross, lit up X on February 20 with a bold take that had the NHL world buzzing—“BRADY TKACHUK MUST BECOME A BRUIN.” And just like that, the floodgates burst wide open. Fans wasted no time rallying behind the idea, flooding the comments with their own takes, hot debates, and a whole lot of wishful thinking.

One fan could not resist this and gave the hot take, “Brady’s stock might be the highest in the NHL right now!” And honestly? They might just be onto something. But let’s rewind to 2021, when the Ottawa Senators made sure to lock down their golden boy, the way any smart franchise would. They signed a seven-year contract with Brady Tkachuk to ensure that he will remain with the team until the 2027-28 season.
And they didn’t skimp on the deal either—$8.214 million per year, plus a full no-move clause kicking in before the 2025-26 campaign. Yeah, Ottawa knew exactly what they were doing. The Sens played their cards right, but with Brady’s stock soaring higher than ever, you’ve got to wonder—are they ready for the storm of trade rumors and wishful thinking that’s coming their way? But this is just the tip of the iceberg as many other fans flocked to the comments!
Brady Tkachuk to leave Ottawa Senators?
Another fan joined the chaos and left a comment that sparked a lot of discussions in the hockey community: “Panther, reunite the Bash Brothers!” Now, if you are wondering who the Bash Brothers are, let’s explain it–Brady Tkachuk’s brother, Matthew Tkachuk, is not any ordinary player. He is a Stanley Cup champion and has been making headlines alongside his brother for (literally) taking the fight to the Canadians during the 4 Nations Face-Off. So imagine these two wrecking havoc on the same squad? That’s clearly a dream team!
Another fan jumped in with a passionate plea: “Needs to come home to St. Louis 🔵🟡!” And honestly? They might be onto something. Brady Tkachuk didn’t just pass through St. Louis—he was raised there after his father was traded to the Blue. He played for the St. Louis Blues U16 team and then joined the USA Hockey National Team Development Program (NTDP), before following in his father’s footsteps and committing to Boston University.

Now, fans are chanting loud and clear: “Make him a Blue! Bring him home!!!” Is it possible for a St. Louis reunion to happen? Time will tell! For now, though? The fans of the Bruins are not out of the conversation either, they are also joining in the fun too! One of them said, “Absolutely needs to happen. He was built for this town.” As it was found out, Brady Tkachuk is a fan of at least one Bruin, and he was not afraid to show it. Flashback to Feb. 15, when Team USA faced off against Team Canada. Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy delivered a thundering blow to Connor McDavid in the defensive zone and put Canada in a halt. Only thirty seconds later, Jake Guentzel scored a goal and tied the game at 1-1.
And who was hyping up McAvoy right after? None other than Tkachuk himself. “That starts with f—ing you! That starts with you!” He screamed at McAvoy before addressing the rest of the Team USA. “Hey! That starts with Charlie there. Starts with f—ing, Charlie!” No lies detected—McAvoy’s monster hit completely shut down Canada’s play and gave Team USA the opening they needed. So, is Brady Bruins-bound? Or is it still just a pipe dream? That’s up for debate. But what do you think? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
