“Every Little Girls First Love”: Wayne Gretzky’s Daughter’s Maiden Instagram Post in 2013 Is Sure to Melt Your Heart

One of the most influential sports figures, Wayne Gretzky, inspired millions with skills on the skating rink. However, off-field, the legend was a dedicated father who inspired his children. Wayne’s eldest of five children, Paulina, has repeatedly shown how much her father means to her.

Paulina made her Instagram debut in 2013. Her first post on the social media platform was a heartfelt message to her father that’ll surely melt people’s hearts.

Paulina’s tribute to her legendary athlete father

On July 17, 2013, Paula Gretzky made her first post on Instagram. It’s an old image of Paulina and Wayne when she was a kid. “Every Little Girls First Love…Their Dad. HAPPY FATHERS DAY DAD ❤,” Paulina captioned the post. It’s clear Paulina cherished her childhood memories with her father.

In 2018, Paulina resurrected another old photo with Wayne on his birthday. She posted the picture on Instagram too. In the image, a young Paulina is wearing a cap with her father’s jersey, no. 99, written on it. The pair seem to be in the middle of a press conference. “99 on the ice but number 1 in my heart. Happy Birthday Dad I love you so much 💙🧡” wrote Paulina Gretzky.

However, Paulina’s “First Love” also gave her some advice, which helped Paulina find her partner and husband, Dustin Johnson. Paulina once told the New York Post her father’s advice on dating was the best she ever got. Paulina said Wayne had told her to weigh the “pros and cons” of the person she dates. If the pros outweigh the cons, there is hope.

When Paulina met Dustin Johnson, she followed her father’s advice. The couple began dating in 2013. Earlier this year, they tied the knot.

Johnson and Gretzky are more than in-laws. The pair have known each other for years. “We’re great friends,” the ice hockey legend once said. Gretzky also revealed he and Johnson talk about everything from family to sports to TV scheduling. Gretzky also said having his son-in-law’s support “Has been one of the best things ever.”

Johnson is a top golfer, and Gretzky is arguably the greatest ice hockey player in history. However, Gretzky said people often assume he always advises Johnson. “I’m not some guru or anything like that for Dustin,” said Gretzky while busting the myth.
