NHL legend Wayne Gretzky‘s daughter Paulina Gretzky aspired to be a social media star from a very young age. In her interview with the Flare, Paulina admitted, “I always felt like I fit in. I never felt any different than anyone else. Every day, people ask me, ‘Do you feel weird about your dad being famous?’ And I’m like, ‘No. No, I don’t. He’s my dad.'”

Being Wayne Gretzky’s daughter was normal for Paulina

“The Great One’s” daughter and the “bikinied goddess,” Paulina would have a fascinating childhood. But apparently, it’s the inverse in real. She grew up like any other child. Growing up in Los Angeles as a starkid seemed normal, surrounded by celebrities.

When asked, she promptly answered the interviewer of Flare that maybe her dad is an NHL legend for the outer world. But for her, he was just a normal father at home. Her parents even used to drop her at school like others. She wanted to make her mark on the world. It astounded the world when Gretzky’s daughter made it to the elite list featuring the likes of Hollywood celebrities.

Palina hates being shrouded

Borne out of a model, Pauline always aspired to be one. Despite being a good hockey player, the Gretzky daughter aspired to become a model. Just like her model mother, Janet Jones, Paulina entered the glamorous world to dabble with her passion. She was a crowd singer since her teenage.

Constant comparison of her being successful and discussion about her dad being the reason behind it made Paulina agitated. She shared, “the expectations everybody has for me that put me in the shadow of my father… I’m just trying to live my own life, and they need to relax and let me be and see that I’m a 23-year-old girl.” Clearly, she didn’t like to be veiled under her dad’s shadow.

Apart from being a legendary NHL player of his time, Gretzky was a good father to his children. From his children’s point-of-view it never felt “weird” to be his offspring. Notably, Paulina and her siblings grew up as ordinary children, taking no pride in being star kids.
