The Kansas Chiefs have been on a roll, securing five consecutive victories. With their star quarterback Patrick Mahomes at the helm, they crushed the Denver Broncos 19-8. This winning streak has propelled them to an AFC best 5-1.

However, despite marking their 16th consecutive win against this team, some analysts have pointed out areas of concern within the team’s performance. A comparison between Mahomes and the popular rapper, Drake, has been drawn by Shannon Sharpe and his allies on a show.

As the debate on Chiefs rings everywhere, a unique remark has been made on ESPN‘s talk show First Take. Ryan Clark, a former Pittsburgh Steelers turned analyst, compared the Chiefs to something unusual and said, “You’re like Drake right very early on in Patrick Mahomes career you dropped take care and everybody been waiting for that album to come out again and so when you drop for all the dogs now they pissed off with you.” Further speaking of his disgust, Clark added, “Because they feel like you’re not playing up to the same level even though you’re out selling everybody else that’s where the Kansas City Chiefs are now we’re talking about a one lost.”

The Drake comparison came into the scene early in his career, as Drake released his critically acclaimed album “Take Care.” Since then, fans have been waiting for him to release an album of similar impact. Similarly, fans and analysts alike are waiting for the Chiefs to replicate their high-scoring performances from earlier seasons.

The Red Zone Concerns

Apart from the Chiefs’ performance debate, one major lacklustre that caught the critique’s eyes was the red zone. Brat Scott, the former NFL linebacker explained his view on the red zone and said, “I have a little concern with the red zone because you need somebody else to emerge opposite Travis Kelce I feel I never thought I would say this but they missed Juju Smith-Shuster cuz he was a tough receiver.”

This was already voiced by Shannon Sharpe as he said, “If now stalling in the Red Zone you pay double you kick field goals you lose you score touchdowns in the Red Zone you win championships and that’s what got the Chiefs the championships.” And it was quite clear that they’ve been stalling in the red zone, struggling to convert their positive yards into points consistently.

And as Mahomes himself acknowledged these issues post-game, stating, “We’ve got to take care of business in the red zone… we strive for something better than what we’re doing right now.”

While the Chiefs are on a winning streak and are outperforming many other teams, they still have areas they need to improve upon. As they strive to reach their previous high standards, eyes will be on them to see how they continue the saga and kill out the red zone bugbear.
