The massive bet also exhibits his confidence in the Wolverines, who are still No.1 in the league. The opposing team ranks 4 and has held a stellar record in the playoffs so far. Dave Portnoy’s X post was not a snub to the Alabama team, as he clarified in a previous update.

Dave Portnoy wrote, “I like the Crimson Tide, I like their fans, the hospitality, Roll Tide Willie; I’m friends with [Nick] Saban’s daughter Kristen”. However, when it comes to the relationship on the field, he predicted a “curb-stomp”-ing maneuver.
