The Wolverines are backed with 11 claimed national championships along with 44 conference titles. They have produced several NFL draft picks and winner of The Heisman Memorial Trophy, awarded annually to the most outstanding player in college football.

Carrying forward a glorious history of college football, Michigan Wolverines have a lot at stake. The NCAA is currently investigating its football team over the scandalous “sign-stealing”. The incident happened no sooner than the Big Ten officially confirmed the allegations of unfair practices against them.

Digging out for the actual meaning of the sign-stealing refers to the practice of collecting information on the signs a team uses to call offensive and defensive plays. Citing the NCAA Bylaw 11.6.1, it states “Off-campus, in-person scouting of future opponents (in the same season) is prohibited.”

Soon after the news broke, Jim Harbaugh, the football team’s head coach said, “I do not have any knowledge or information regarding the University of Michigan football program illegally stealing signals, nor have I directed any staff member or others to participate in an off-campus scouting assignment.

With the recent reports published, Connor Stalions, Michigan’s football analyst is said to have been suspended as the investigation proceeds. The suspension came from Warde Manuel, the athletic director, clarifying that Stalions has been suspended with pay, which will not affect his keeping up with the swift procedure of the investigation. With Michigan backers citing investigation for every college team, the outcome of the whole event would be intriguing to witness.
