“I Sense Misery All Over”: Anticipating Despair at SoFi Stadium, Stephen A. Smith’s Bold Stance Ahead of the Cowboys-Chargers NFL Game

It’s been a great season altogether for the Dallas Cowboys. With key contributors like Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys have had a notable performance this season. Standing 2nd in the NFC East, that too with a record 3-2 sets high hopes for the fans. Despite their thunderous performance, there’s someone seemingly not happy with them.

The unhappiness is not all about the team’s performance, but the way their fans react to everything around the team. Stephen A. Smith, the renowned sports commentator, brawled at the Cowboys’ fans’ pavilion and made bold call-outs at the fans before the Los Angeles Chargers game.

Smith, known for his antagonistic approach towards the Cowboys, issued an ominous warning leading up to their Monday night contest against the Chargers. He stated, “I sense misery flowing all over SoFi Stadium from those Cowboy fans…coz after the game I know you gonna be miserable.” This statement left fans and spectators in suspense, wondering what Smith had in store for them.

Stephen A. Smith, an ESPN headliner, at many events, said that he doesn’t hate the Dallas Cowboys, but he hates how their fans act. He has said that the Cowboys haven’t won a Super Bowl since 1996, but they’re still considered “America’s Team”.

 Earlier, Smith had said that his dislike for the Cowboys stems from a heartbreak 30 years ago. He was once head over heels for a girl in high school who was a Cowboys fan. He’s a fan of hometown teams, the New York Yankees and the New York Knicks. 

The Rivalry: Cowboys vs the rest

Smith’s disdain for the Cowboys is no secret. He has a history of predicting their downfall and then gloating about it on TV. In many previous experiences, Smith has worn a Cowboy hat to mock the Dallas fan base. His rivalry with the Cowboys is so profound that it’s often compared to other heated sports rivalries like Yankees vs Red Sox or Steelers vs Ravens.

The game between the Cowboys and Chargers was a must-win for both teams. The Cowboys were coming off a drubbing at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers and needed to put that defeat behind them as quickly as possible. On the other hand, the Chargers were looking to capitalize on their much-needed bye week and continue riding the hot hand of QB Justin Herbert.

As fans eagerly awaited the outcome of the game and Smith’s reaction to it, a pregame scuffle broke out between players from both teams. As the Dallas Cowboys ended up winning by 20-17 against the Los Angeles Chargers, it’s clear that the Cowboys fans had the last charm.
