Home/Olympics

There is much anticipation for Jonathan Owens surrounding safety opener rumors this NFL season. Between his setbacks and comeback, he married the most decorated gymnast, Simone Biles, who has been his strongest supporter throughout his turbulent career. Just days after their wedding, Owens signed a contract with the Green Bay Packers before returning to the ground, 325 miles from his wife. This NFL season, Jonathan Owens will be making his much anticipated Green Bay Packers debut.

While the world discussed his two torn ACLs and being undrafted, the couple adjusted to the new normal. With her “OWENS” neckpiece worn throughout US Classics, Biles expressed her love for her man with her comeback after a two-year professional hiatus. The two are frequently seen swooning over one another on social media, while Biles recently uploaded another such display of affection.

The Owens have been exchanging updates on their professions relying on social media platforms for communication for the past few months. As Simone flew home after winning the U.S. Classic on August 5, she also returned to cheering for her husband. Jonathan puts in a lot of work at Lambeau Field, where the team’s official photographers sometimes capture him in action. As the recent update of Owens came, Biles uploaded an Instagram story of his chic travel look captioned, “gawh damn,” with fire, drooling face, and heart-eyes emojis.

The beaming Owens looked sharp with his signature cornrows, sunglasses, casual shirt, ripped jeans, and Nike trainers. As shown in the photo, he was walking while carrying bags in both hands. While he strolled with pride and his wife stuck to fan-girling, the fans could already be anticipating a terrific opening safety slot. Only recently, when America’s favorite Biles made an impressive comeback, Owens also turned heads in the sports world with his performance.

Owens has always been a talented player despite his unfortunate fate of being in and out of football teams over the years. While having a difficult career, he bonded with Simone in Texas while playing for the Houston Texans in 2019. A year later, the two began dating. They grew close during their distance conversations during the pandemic when she was away from the 2021 Olympics. A closeness that only deepened with time and even helped them maintain their focus while apart. Now, after Biles’s remarkable 59.100 scores this Saturday, all eyes are on Owens, who is aiming to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Upcoming challenges for Simone Biles’s husband

The 5-foot-11 athlete is hard-training as the NFL season draws closer at Lambeau Field in Wisconsin. The community is raising the difficult question of whether Jonathan Owens or Darnell Savage will open as safety. The Packers selected Savage in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draught, and ever since, he played an essential part as safety for the team.

However, the coaches may have been sufficiently pleased with Owens, who seems to be purportedly challenged for the opening safety position. They were even given additional playing time for further evaluation while many fans have ruled out their judgment in Owens’ favor. For the team, the eyes are set on bringing home the Vince Lombardi trophy named in honor of the NFL coach who guided the Green Bay Packers to straight victories in the first two Super Bowl games. As the NFL season kicks off next month, it is only natural to look forward to Owens’ shining moment after Biles.
