An interesting turn of events this Sunday changed the course of the College Football Playoff. In an unprecedented move, Alabama ascended to the No. 4 ranking and is set to face Michigan in the Rose Bowl. The final season of the four-team College Football Playoff was undoubtedly tumultuous, resulting in Florida State’s exclusion. FSU held the No. 5 position as the first unbeaten Power Five conference champion.
It was the toughest decision for the selection committee. A recent video is doing rounds that purportedly indicate Michigan’s apprehension regarding the matchup with Alabama. Dave Portnoy, Barstool Sports founder and the beloved ‘Michigan Man,’ rose to the occasion to call out such claims. He proclaimed that only a “gigantic idiot” would come up with such a response.

Furthermore, the post features an artwork, depicting the Michigan-Alabama Rose Bowl matchup. Portnoy further justified the mild response of Michigan at the No.4 team announcement. “What exactly did people expect Michigan to do here? The only drama in the whole selection show was who would get the 4 spot. When they announced we were playing Bama I had the same reaction as that room.”
Portnoy added that it was a natural response to the occasion, and the team wouldn’t have cheered for FSU either. He emphasized that it is just a gimmick from those who hate Michigan, trying to portray the narrative that they are scared of Alabama.
