There are few things that are predictable in this world. One of them is that Dave Portnoy will remain a diehard fan of the New England Patriots until the end of his days here. To presume any differently would be folly. Despite their slipping to their worst record in a season by this point, Portnoy has defended them.

At times, Dave Portnoy’s opinions shock the rest of the world. For instance, Portnoy saw the second coming of Tom Brady in the relatively inconsistent Mac Jones. Even so, he held fast to that position and did not relent, even when the evidence mounted under his nose. He claimed the Patriots could still win the Super Bowl. Regardless, Portnoy teased a possible change in allegiance, jocularly.

Dave Portnoy shared an image of himself sporting a cowboy hat. The image was part of a story he shared on Instagram. The caption adjoining the image went thus, “Am I just a cowboy hat guy now? Does it happen that fast?” Portnoy, in jest, teased a switch in the NFL side that enjoys the status of being his team.

Dave Portnoy implied he looked good in the cowboy hat. Despite that, though some of Portnoy’s views boggle the mind, he is unlikely to become a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys faced the Patriots already this season, beating them 38-3, their ninth win against that opposition. That game began a sequence of eight quarters in which Bill Belichick’s side did not register anything on the scoreboard. While still a staunch Patriots supporter, Portnoy named another side as his favorite to clinch the Super Bowl.
