The Army-Navy football game once again took center stage for college football at this weekend’s celebration of the long-standing tradition. While the game was a fairly contested one, the West Point cadets clinched a thrilling 17-11 victory during the last seconds. Like every other fan, Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy was also keen about the match results and had a few things to say after the Army’s last-moment win.

In recent days, Portnoy’s alma mater Michigan University has been riddled with sign-stealing allegations. From a full-fledged NCAA investigation to their head coach being suspended, the Wolverines are going through a rough patch. Portnoy has been fuming over the issue and also reminded Michigan’s rivals of Wolverines’ prowess on several occasions. Now, after the Army team’s triumph, Portnoy had another sneer up his sleeve.

Singing second is a coveted tradition where the victorious team of the Army-Navy game sings their alma mater anthem after the defeated team sings theirs. After their recent win, the Army obviously looked thrilled to sing the West Point song and Portnoy thinks it’s only the second-best sight in the sporting world. For him, the best feeling remains the Wolverines decimating the Buckeyes.

Singing second is the 2nd best tradition in all of sports only to Michigan beating the hell out of Ohio State every year“, wrote the Barstool owner along with a short clip of the Amry’s celebration. Dave Portnoy has been standing firm on the Wolverines’ corner.

Despite head coach Jim Harbaugh being sidelined, the Michigan football team is rummaging through their opponents and is looking safe on their way to yet another Big Ten title.

Their winning ways have also given Portnoy the chance to call out Michigan’s conference rivals on multiple occasions. After the Army’s latest win, the Patriots fan once again had to take to social media to take a dig at arch-rivals Ohio State.

Portnoy hopes to finally leave his rough times behind

It hasn’t been an easy time for the New England Patriots fan Portnoy these last few months. His massive wager on the Cincinnati proved to be as drab as the Baltimore Ravens obliterated the Bengals. However, he refused to stop betting and suffered another financial loss as the Arkansas Razorbacks stomped over the Duke Blue Devils a few days ago.

Portnoy has been left distraught by the two incidents and has been demanding that Bengals’ quarterback Joe Burrow be put under serious investigation for hiding his injury ahead of the Ravens-Bengals match. Now, it waits to be seen if Michigan actually comes up with comforting news for Dave as the season inches closer to an end.
