Dave Portnoy is not just a football fanatic, but it seems the music bug has bitten him too. He is ardent “Swiftie”, as the kids say it these days. He has been a member of that club for a while. Portnoy has the jackets to prove his allegiance, too. At the moment, he has sweaters detailing that same fact as well. The Barstool Sports Store announced the start of its Black Friday sale early, so that people get their “ugly sweaters” well in time, according to Portnoy.
Some of the sweaters on sale are designed specifically keeping Swifties in mind. One of them features the likenesses of Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs‘ tight end, Travis Kelce. That was used to announce to the world that Dave Portnoy now approved of their budding romance. As he bows down to T Swift for her being justifiably salty towards her ex flames, he had rousing statements to make and memorabilia launched in support of her diss tracks.

Dave Portnoy took to Instagram to share a story featuring some of the sweaters available. Most prominent among them was a navy sweater. It had emblazoned on it part of the lyrics to the Taylor Swift hit ‘Mean.’ The words went, “All you’re ever gonna be is mean, and a liar, and pathetic.” Underneath that, there followed a litany of people against whom the Swifties’ ire was directed. Scooter Braun, Kanye [West], and Kim Kardashian were mentioned by name. Her exes, while not individually listed, were also spared a collective mention. The words adjoining that image were, “Support Mother. Buy your ugly sweater today.”
Every sweater on sale will be sold at a 20% discount. Dave Portnoy followed that with a post on his X handle. He shared news of an initiative aimed at people who work for him far away from the limelight. Some people might be on the fence regarding the service given by Portnoy, but honestly, he’s found a way to blend his love for Swift and his humour on fabric so a win’s a win.

An initiative geared towards those doing the grunt work
Dave Portnoy outlined his plan to give each of the unseen people in his company a healthy bonus. That is contingent on the amount of money earned via the Black Friday sales. Portnoy expects, as was the case right from the time he took his company back, the sales target set to be exceeded comfortably. He wants to distribute the amount exceeding the target equally among those who do the grunt work, as were his words.

It remains to be seen how well the Barstool Sports Store does, from a sales perspective, this Black Friday. That day is currently less than three weeks away. Dave Portnoy plans to give each of those doing the heavy lifting for his company a significant bonus towards the end of the year. It remains to be seen how successful that venture proves to be. Based on how successfully he built Barstool Sports from the ground up, we hope for a Fortune 500 company from Portnoy and his minions.
