The injury forced the footballer to sit out the next game for the grave consequences that has befallen upon him.

Patrick Shriver Schwarzenegger’s recent post came in at the exact moment the footballer got injured. This San Francisco 49ers quarterback was about to throw the ball when his wrist hit an opposition player. Here’s what went down.

Patrick Schwarzenegger’s concern for Brock Purdy’s injured wrist

Patrick Shriver took to his Twitter and wrote, “Feel so bad for him. Hoping he’s alright,” posting alongside a Twitter thread by Complex Sports. In the five-second clip, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy was about to throw the ball when midway his arm was blocked by an opposition player. His wrist took the brunt of that collision. Reports say that Purdy might have to sit out the next game.

Complex Sports shared the video with the caption, “Brock Purdy injured his wrist on this play and didn’t return for the 49ers’ next drive”. This might be a concern for the 49ers since Purdy’s injury looks like a serious one. The commentary heard on the clip was, “Take a look here. This ball’s clearly hit… that is an open hand. That is a fumble”. A fumble in NFL happens when a player in possession of the ball loses control of it before he is down, scores, or out of bounds.

Purdy’s injury came on the San Francisco 49ers‘s sixth offensive play of the game. It was initially an incomplete pass, but after an Eagles challenge, it was clearly a fumble. Purdy is still likely to play the next season for the 49ers.

The severity of Brock Purdy’s injury and his chances of a comeback

He has injured his ulnar collateral ligament, but if it didn’t tear, then he might recover in six weeks. Christian McCaffrey and Kyle Juszczyk are the two backup quarterbacks for them. But Purdy’s recovery will be very closely monitored since it is of utmost importance that he plays the next season for his team 49ers. Purdy did enter the play once after his wrist injury and handed off for a draw play on third down that led to a 49ers punt.
