He admitted the Buffaloes are in good hands with Sanders at the helm, according to Bleacher Report. While he asserted they were miles away from being national championship contenders, Sharpe admitted they were on a good path presently.

By the end of the first half, the Buffaloes had raced ahead into a 29-point lead while keeping their opponents scoreless. At the end of the third quarter, that lead had been cut to ten. Despite scoring a touchdown themselves, the home side saw the scores tied at 36 come the end of the fourth quarter. That took the game into overtime. Following a touchdown apiece, the game went into second overtime. There, a Joshua Karty field goal separated the teams.
Deion Sanders was left disappointed by his team’s complacency. Shedeur Sanders and Ashton Daniels were not the only ones to have great games. The quarterbacks threw five and four touchdowns, respectively, in the game. Xavier Weaver scored three touchdowns, two from passes by Sanders and one from a 14-yard rush. Elic Ayomanor scored three touchdowns via passes from Daniels for the Cardinal. Karty scored the field goal that tied the scores before the end of the second half.

One wonders how the Buffaloes bounce back from this loss. They next take on the UCLA Bruins. Shannon Sharpe, who spent 12 of his 14 seasons in the NFL with the Denver Broncos, has a soft spot for Colorado. Sanders? team lost their way after winning three of their first four games. The Buffaloes have improved under his stewardship, after posting 1-11 numbers last season. All that remains is to see if they can maintain the upward trajectory despite the bumps.
