Amidst Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Blossom, Dave Portnoy’s “Travy Claus” Winks at Festive Cheer

Dave Portnoy is a sworn die-hard Swiftie. He has shown the same at every opportunity that arose. Simultaneously, he did not initially approve of her choice of romantic partner. Portnoy was dead set against the budding romance between Kansas City Chiefs‘ tight end, Travis Kelce, and the singer. That stance appeared to be changing soon after.

It began when Kelce’s publicist, Pia Malihi, allegedly said the entire romance was a sham perpetrated for PR gains. Portnoy rushed to the couple’s defense. He had to do the same again following the clown-face Instagram story. That, in particular, caused the Swifties to be up in arms en masse, with Portnoy leading the charge. While that was just the beginning, his turnaround regarding their relationship appears complete.

Dave Portnoy approves of the romance via “ugly sweater”

Dave Portnoy shared an Instagram story that provided conclusive proof of his changed stance. To one of the images in the story, he added the words, “I’ve come around on Taylor and Travis. Get your ugly sweater now.” The image in question was of a red sweater with the likeness of a smiling Travis Kelce getting a kiss on the cheek from Taylor Swift. Emblazoned on the sweater were the words, “I saw Mother kissing Travy Claus.”

The sweater was sold by the Barstool Sports Store to mark the beginning of the holiday season. The link attached to the Instagram story offered a 20 percent discount on the purchase. Sure to be a hit with the Swifties, it was far from the only sweater on offer. Moreover, there were others set to appeal to the Swifties.

More sweaters were on sale to mark the holiday season. For instance, there was the sweater commemorating what Portnoy christened the worst pizza place he’d reviewed. That was not the only one concerning his pizza reviews, however. Appealing to Swifties’ tastes, Portnoy’s Eras Tour jacket also became a sweater, featuring the names of all the singer’s albums on the front. Each of the adjoining links offered a 20 percent discount.

Despite his initial misgivings, Dave Portnoy has officially jumped on the Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce bandwagon. While his NFL team will remain the New England Patriots, it is safe to say he will discreetly keep an eye on the Chiefs, too. Or rather, just one of those in the Chiefs’ gear.
