“Always on Alert”: Dave Portnoy Unleashes Swifties’ Might, Responding to Outrage Over Travis Kelce’s Publicist’s Altered Taylor Swift Photo

Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, is known for his opinions. Portnoy defends them to the hilt and, likely, always will. Be it seeing the second coming of Tom Brady in Mac Jones or the possibility of the New England Patriots winning another Super Bowl, Portnoy makes himself heard. He did so once more after it appeared as though one of his idols received a little shade.

Dave Portnoy belongs to many a club. One of those with specialized jackets is the Swifties. While one of Taylor Swift’s biggest fans, Portnoy did not approve of every decision she made. It was not that long ago when he criticized her choice of romantic partner. As per Portnoy, there were any number of choices available to the popstar much better than Kansas City Chiefs‘ tight end Travis Kelce. While initially critical, he appears to be onside with that budding romance. All is not well in paradise at the moment, though.

Dave Portnoy becomes one of the Swifties?

Pia Malihi, Travis Kelce’s publicist, reposted a picture on Instagram sent her by a friend who’d placed a clown emoji on Taylor Swift’s face, drawing Portnoy’s ire. He said, in a story he shared on Instagram, ” … one of Pia’s friends sent her a picture, and it was a picture from a Chiefs’ game. Taylor’s in the box, Pia’s in the box, and the girl writes, you are my, like, Roman empire. But, she put a clown face, a clown emoji on Taylor’s face to block her out. It’s like, what the f**k are you doing?” Portnoy went on to warn Malihi that the Swifties were keeping an eye on her, a la Robert De Niro in Meet the Parents.

Dave Portnoy noted Malihi was the reason the world knew about it. She was obviously tagged in the post but she reposted it, he reasoned. He added, “… we see you. The Swifties are always on alert. We see you, Pia. I mean, what the f**k? Was Taylor a clown to you, make you laugh? Do you think it was funny? Why the f**k would you repost a story that has a clown emoji on Taylor’s face?“ Portnoy adopted an unforgiving stance, considering it was far from a first offense.

Not the first time Pia Malihi threw shade on that relationship

Pia Malihi supposedly told her hairdresser the relationship between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce was a sham. On that occasion, she walked it back. He said, “… she was in the news two weeks ago, a week ago, ‘cause supposedly she told her hairdresser the relationship between Travis and Taylor was fake. It was for PR, for publicity. She walked it back, and it came and it went and it disappeared.” Even so, to Portnoy, she appeared determined to break that particular camel’s back.

Dave Portnoy refused to sit and watch Pia Malihi load that heavy straw on the poor animal. He rose up in arms to defend his idol. Portnoy showcased outrage on behalf of Swifties everywhere. It remains to be seen what happens next in this saga. Hopefully, it ends peacefully.
