Dave Portnoy’s football know-how will be put to the test once again. He puts it in the firing line often. It is not easy to determine the number of times he has equated the inconsistent Mac Jones with the great Tom Brady. While his eyes were eventually opened to that reality, he still defended Jones every chance he got.
Dave Portnoy remains a fan of the New England Patriots. Given their decline, he backed a different team for the Super Bowl. Sadly, the Cincinnati Bengals also faltered briefly after he made that announcement. Now, with the New York Giants hosting the Green Bay Packers, Portnoy gave the visitors his backing.

Dave Portnoy took to his X handle to share a video of rookie Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito walking into the stadium. He added the words, “Packers by a zillion.” With Daniel Jones out injured and having undergone surgery, the Giants find themselves a little thin at quarterback. Portnoy predicted the visitors would win the clash.

Tommy DeVito has only played five games for the Giants this season. He threw seven touchdowns and three interceptions during that time while completing 66 of his 105 attempted passes. That includes three touchdown passes in the game against the Washington Commanders, the game that began the Giants’ recent resurgence. They won two in a row before the Packers clash, with the second a win over Dave Portnoy’s favorite team.

Most recently, they beat the Kansas City Chiefs 27-19.

There were questionable refereeing decisions in that clash. Towards the end, a seemingly obvious pass interference call went unnoticed. After that, the Chiefs played the Buffalo Bills, with an offside penalty denying them a late win. Dave Portnoy predicted the incensed Patrick Mahomes, who went after three officials, would apologize after seeing the replay.
