Dave Portnoy is no stranger to views that are strange in the eyes of other specimens of humanity. He equated current New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones with the legendary Tom Brady, after all. Aside from that, he rushed to Jones’ defense many a time. Portnoy was over the moon when Jones threw a late touchdown pass against the Buffalo Bills in game seven of their season, sealing the win.

Speaking of the Bills, they secured a hard-fought win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The Bills won 20-17, courtesy of a go-ahead Tyler Bass field goal with 1:54 remaining in the fourth quarter. Dave Portnoy had briefly sworn off gambling following the Bills’ 37-34 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in their previous game. Recently, he shared an irony-rich take on the Bills’ chances at the Super Bowl.

The self-styled El Presidente, Dave Portnoy, took to X and shared former NFL quarterback Tony Romo’s views on the Bills’ chances of winning the Super Bowl this season. He quoted Romo, who spent 14 seasons in a Dallas Cowboys jersey, thus, “The Bills can’t win close games. They always make mistakes in the biggest moments. That’s exactly why they can win the Super Bowl – Tony Romo.”

The Chiefs would have emerged victorious if not for a late touchdown being called offsides. Tyler Bass’ second field goal of the game was enough to separate the two sides. Bills’ quarterback Josh Allen had one passing touchdown and one rushing touchdown to his name. The win put the 7-6 Bills in second in the AFC East table, behind the 9-3 Miami Dolphins. Simultaneously, the 8-5 Chiefs remain atop the AFC West table. It remains to be seen how true are Tony Romo’s words.

Tony Romo is not exactly Mr. Reliable

Tony Romo did not do his reliability any favors during this game. There was a gaffe during the live broadcast when he mentioned Taylor Swift. Romo referred to Swift and beau Travis Kelce of the Chiefs as a married couple. That sent the rumor mill into overdrive once more.
