Dave Portnoy backed the New England Patriots throughout their decline. They are presently 3-10 for the season, with one of the worst records in the NFL. Of course, his assessment of them became harsher as time went on. Portnoy backed another team to win the Super Bowl given the Patriots’ form, but they remain his favorite NFL side.
In that scenario, a reliable source confirmed owner Robert Kraft will part ways with current head coach and general manager Bill Belichick. Apparently, Belichick’s fate was sealed after the 10-6 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Frankfurt, Germany. Upon that news snippet becoming public knowledge, Dave Portnoy made his feelings on the matter clear.

Dave Portnoy took to X for one of his trademark emergency press conferences. Portnoy wrote the following, “Emergency Press Conference – Report says Belichick is gone at end of season.” He said, in the accompanying video, “Tom Curran, who usually has good intel, reports that the Patriots have already decided to part ways with [Bill] Belichick, it was decided after the Germany game. Listen. I’ve got mixed emotions but the bottom line is I’m comfortable or okay with whatever happens.”

Dave Portnoy admitted he would be equally pleased whether Bill Belichick stayed on or was asked to leave. He believed the six Super Bowl rings earned Belichick the right to decide his future as and when he saw fit. Simultaneously, Portnoy remarked Belichick, were he in Robert Kraft’s shoes, would have announced a sacking long before. Portnoy said, “If Belichick was the Krafts, Belichick would get rid of Belichick.” Regardless, the self-styled El Presidente will lose no sleep over this matter.

El Presidente urges the fans to remember Belichick fondly
Dave Portnoy exalted Bill Belichick to the skies. He noted Belichick and Tom Brady will forever be Patriots’ legends thanks to their achievements. Portnoy said, “We’re the f*****g worst team in the league, or one of them. I sleep easy at night and it’s thanks to Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, and the Krafts. So, whatever they wanna do, I’m fine with it. They never gotta win another f*****g playoff game, I’m fine with it. That’s the reality. You can’t forget what they gave us. The greatest run of all f*****g time!“
