Recently, the former Vice President Mike Pence has stood his ground on the Lia Thomas controversy. Mike Pence was at the University of Virginia, where he spoke publicly about the “unfair” participation of Thomas. He backed up many others who believe that runner-up Emma Weyant is the actual winner.
Young America’s Foundation, a conservative organization is the one that invited Pence to the University. Despite the controversy surrounding his invitation, many students attended.

Pence opened about his stand on Lia Thomas. Notably, Thomas is the winner of the 500-yard freestyle at the NCAA Championships. By doing this, she became the first-ever transgender woman to do so.

Mike Pence backed the stand of the majority who believe that Lia Thomas does not deserve the medal. They are in support of Emma Weyant, who came second. According to Pence, Weyant was deprived of her win by Lia.

“Emma Weyant won that race,” said Pence. Pence believes that Thomas’s participation violates women’s rights. He appealed for the people to come together and protect the integrity of women.

“And we need to defend the integrity of women’s sports in America for the benefit of women everywhere.”

In addition, he believes that “common sense needs to reign” in this situation. The former vice president believes that this step taken by the NCAA will be in the way of women’s sports in the future.

Notably, Pence is known for his conservative views. This is why liberal students of the campus tried to prevent his visit to the campus.  Not just this, Mike Pence also called out the “woke culture” which supports Lia Thomas’ participation.

Caitlyn Jenner severely attacks NCAA

Meanwhile, popular American celebrity Caitlyn Jenner is at the top of the tier when it comes to Lia Thomas. From the very beginning itself, Jenner has stood her ground against Thomas.

The Governor of Florida, Rober De Santis has issued a proclamation that declares Emma Weyant as the rightful winner. Jenner has also backed this proclamation, standing totally against the champion swimmer.
