With a seven-win streak, team U.S.A. has asserted a dominant win at the FIBA u23 3×3 World Cup. They lead the chart with 147 points, with Israel following it from afar. The fierce US squad dominated the u23 Basketball World Cup from the very first match to the very final with 21.0 average points.

The United States team won the FIBA u23 World Cup 2023 in Lublin Poland. In the five-day event, the star-studded team showed their grit and defeated every opponent team. They achieved their World Cup glory defeating Israel in the one-sided final game. By the end of the game, the final score was 21-3. And leading the scorecard was none other than former Nebraska Cornhuskers player Trey McGowens III.

As Team USA won their undefeated gold medal at the FIBA u23 World Cup, there was one player who played a monumental role in that dominant victory. Trey McGowens III, the former Nebraska Cornhuskers point guard became the MVP of the U23 World Cup. He led the chart by scoring 54 points in seven games and showcasing great defense. He scored 10 points in the final against Israel.

With a solid defense and brilliant point conversion, Trey proved himself worthy of being the MVP of the tournament. Team USA rendered Israel helpless as they clinched the dominating victory by stopping their scorecard on 3 points. From missing out most of his junior season because of a broken foot, to being undrafted, Trey has experienced his fair share of struggles and conquered them to emerge a champion.

Trey comes from an all-basketball family with his parents Bobby McGowens and Pamela McGowens being high school basketball players and his brother Bryce and sister Raina both being basketball players. The love for the game and the passion runs in the family for McGowens.
His brother Bryce was drafted the same season he got undrafted. To recover from a broken bone and the disappointment of being undrafted, Trey has put in the time and work to prove the champion mindset.
