Dave Portnoy pulled off the legal coup of the century this week. He regained control over his media company Barstool Sports, with next to nothing in return. The media personality was visibly pleased with this achievement and boasted about it on Twitter. However, Portnoy’s antics didn’t sit well with NBA star Kyrie Irving, who took to social media to express his disdain. Their online feud has been raging for years now, and both have exchanged heated words but never directly. However, that might soon change as Irving issued a one-on-one challenge to Portnoy, suggesting they settle their differences on the court.
Dave Portnoy was taken aback as he did not expect such a reaction. However, he accepted the challenge on a social media post. Irving is an NBA champion and would be an encounter to witness between the two. Despite this, Portnoy has continued to bait Kyrie Irving online with taunting comments.

Kyrie Irving was fuming yesterday during a Twitch stream and called out, “Gunz Show and dude from Barstool David Portnoy”. Irving challenged the media titans saying he would expose them for what they are. Portnoy had called the player “trash” and accused him of hiding behind stronger athletes to hide his own inadequacies. Irving was justifiably angry and pointed out that the media giants have no grounds to judge him when they have never been athletes themselves.
The NBA legend clapped back on Twitch, saying, “I’m gonna use these guys as examples. When these guys start talking out the side of their f**king mouth about my craft & my career…”. Today Dave Portnoy reacted to Irving’s open challenge on social media. He shared a clip from yesterday’s Twitch stream on his Instagram story with the caption, “Kyrie wants to get Weckie with me? Let’s get f**king Weckie!”
On his blog page for Barstool Sports, Portnoy made fun of Irving for using the word “weckie”. He claimed, “I’ve never heard the word Weckie before but I can already tell Im the king of it”. He insinuated that he was dealing with a “crazy” person and would not let him have the last word in this.

Dave Portnoy’s provocation continues
Dave Portnoy said that he earns his living through mind games and his wit. Therefore, verbal jousts do not intimidate him. In the second part of the Instagram story, he mocked Kyrie Irving for some questionable art pieces in the background. On his blog, he uploaded an art piece that showed a tangled mess of multicolored strings on a canvas.
