If there is any personality who carries a larger-than-life persona, it is Shaquille O’Neal. The retired NBA legend is one of the best players in the league, dominating every step from the start. Be it scoring or rebounding, he always loved a challenge. In the same vein, his determination to be successful in everything he does is incredible. Thus, this makes him go on Twitter and challenge people and there was a time when he did it with cycling icon Lance Armstrong.

An active person on Twitter, Shaq once issued a challenge to Armstrong. Expected to take the challenge, Armstrong had a great reply to those queries and accepted his challenge.

Armstrong was a seven-time Tour de France title winner, earlier in his career. But, due to various controversies, he had it stripped off. Despite that, he moved on from that incident and took up new challenges in life. With Shaq being a person who is very active on Twitter, he issued a cycle race challenge to Armstrong. “I challenge u to a race any time any place, it’s time someone challenged u,” said O’Neal.

An enthusiastic Armstrong loved the challenge and accepted it while he took a quote from the fictional character of Ricky Bobby. “Alright Shaq, you’re on. To quote the great Ricky Bobby, ‘Bring it on trying to bring me down,” replied Armstrong.

Shaq’s competitive spirit can be understood, and this is not the first time he challenged someone. In fact, there are many stories related to his challenges.

He challenged the legendary Michael Phelps and won!

During a sensational challenge, Shaquille O’Neal and Michael Phelps went head to head in a swimming competition. Surprisingly, O’Neal won the race by setting 23.14 while Phelps set 24.03. But, there is a catch. You can’t expect the legendary swimmer to start equally with the NBA star. By giving O’Neal a significant advantage, he dominated the race and finished before Phelps.
