On October 10, Smith’s podcast episode aired on YouTube. This time, however, the episode was titled, “Drake is on another level’ Stephen A. Smith breaks down Joe Budden vs Drake beef.” As the title suggested, Smith dig deep into the ongoing rivalry.

Talking about it, he said, “Drake speaking up for himself, which he has every right to do..” Smith also said, “I too try never to get personal. People’s personal business is their business. This isn’t personal. It’s personal, actually, but it’s not their personal business. Talk about music and stuff like that.” But being the perfect host, he chimed in to give some advice.

Trying to end tension between the two, Smith advised, “All I can say is that let’s try to come together. Y’all, they ain’t got to shake hands, hug one another, kiss babies, and all of that other stuff, but we got enough friction in this world. Let’s not create some where none needs to exist even I had to accept and absorb that lesson.”

Smith on handling negativity
