In an interview with People, Chiles talked about how her mother was a huge fan of the Chicago Bulls legend, Michael Jordan. “She felt the inspiration that he gave to her, and that was just a really huge and beautiful thing,” said the young gymnast.?Chiles believes that being named after an icon like Michael Jordan has instilled “the grind mentality” in her.

The Olympic silver medalist has her sight set on the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris next summer. Her perfect combinations of artistry and grace have not gone unnoticed and now Nike has committed to endorsing the budding gymnast. Posting a video on their Instagram, Nike Women announced to the world that Jordan Chiles is now Team Nike. The sporting giant captioned their post, “Welcome to the @Nike family. We?re just getting started ? #TeamNike”.?

In the video, Jordan seems super excited finally to pen a deal with Nike. The video starts with Jordan saying, “Your girl is a Nike athlete now”. While showing off her Jordan sneakers, she said, “It’s the shoes for me”. During the video, Jordan also points to a tattoo on her arm that displays the number ’23’, paying homage to her namesake and NBA legend Michael Jordan. Chiles further adds, “Love it here. This is home,” hinting towards a long partnership between the two powerhouses. Supporters of Jordan Chiles were ecstatic with this news and were quick to flood social media with messages of love.
