NBA Legend LeBron James has had one of the most explosive and successful careers in the league’s history. The 38-year-old has perfected himself both offensively and defensively and has won four NBA Championships with it. Like all the giants of sports, James is also a person under constant scrutiny by Barstool Sports ‘presidente’ Dave Portnoy.

According to the news, The LeBron James Family Foundation will soon build a museum displaying the stellar basketball career of LBJ. This has caused a lot of noise amongst all NBA fans. Responding to a tweet revealing this information, Dave Portnoy made a cryptic comment for the King of the NBA.

LeBron ‘King’ James recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of his dazzling career that began on 29th October 2003. Honoring his legacy and making it more visible to NBA fans, a new museum will soon be set up in his hometown of Akron. ESPN’s NBA writer Marc Spears shared the news of this development with his audience, which came to the attention of Dave Portnoy. Responding to the tweet, Dave Portnoy saluted LBJ and wrote “#humbleking” with a crown emoji.

The extremely short comment carried no further context or explanation and has become a source of interest for many. Portnoy had once stated that he is the biggest hater of LeBron James. On the other hand, he has also mentioned some good things about the Los Angeles Lakers star. Considering these previous records, the fresh post is somewhat puzzling.

This comment could well be a dig against LBJ for making a museum for himself. However, Dave Portnoy is not someone to hold back. Rarely, he uses cryptic language to convey his thoughts. He is known for going all out with his words when he criticizes someone. Thus, one may wonder if he is actually saluting LeBron James.

While it isn’t clearly known which sentiment Portnoy carried while tweeting, King James has echoed his thoughts behind the museum quite clearly. In fact, he also mentioned that this effort is also one of the many endeavors he’s made for his hometown.

King James “can’t wait” for the museum to open

Speaking about the new museum, LeBron James made a tweet saying, “This is still so crazy to me that this is happening!!! I can’t wait for my fans all over the world to get a peek behind the curtain to see what we’ve built and where it all began. Ain’t nobody better mess up my room either!! Only in Akron!”

James has actively served his hometown and the community of Akron several times in the past. The NBA legend mentioned in an interview that the museum is another addition to his contribution to his home and his people. He said, “My dream was always to put Akron on the map, so to have a place in my hometown that allows me to share my journey with my fans from all over the world means a lot to me”

The NBA community has also given a mixed reaction to this latest development, just like Dave Portnoy. However, while many look at it as James drowning in self-importance, many do see eye-to-eye with him as well. Controversial or not, it is guaranteed that fans would love to visit the museum. In fact, considering that the museum will also carry items from LBJ’s childhood and high school days, the footfall will be massive. Are you a LeBron James fan? What are your thoughts on this?
