Dave Portnoy is not one to steer clear of a potential controversy. One such moment surfaced when the Golden State Warriors traveled to the home of the Phoenix Suns. The Warriors’ power forward Draymond Green was ejected from the court. With 8:23 remaining in the third quarter of the game, Green took a swing at Jusuf Nurkic.
Draymond Green was given his marching orders after the refs deemed he had committed a Flagrant Foul 2. A Flagrant Foul 2 results in immediate ejection. A defining characteristic of such a foul is when a player makes unnecessary and excessive contact with an opponent. Dave Portnoy had a different take on the whole matter.

The incident is likely to cost Draymond Green. His punishment will take into account his history of unsportsmanlike conduct. There was a very recent example of the same not that long ago. This latest ejection comes merely six games after the last one for the 33-year-old power forward. He accounted for two points, two rebounds, and two assists on Tuesday night as the Warriors lost 119-116.

Yet another incident featuring Draymond Green
In November, Draymond Green was banned for five games and had to forfeit $769,704 in salary, according to the Guardian. On that occasion, he had the Minnesota Timberwolves‘ Rudy Gobert in a headlock. There was a tussle between players on both sides rather early that night. Gobert’s teammate, Jaden McDaniels, and Klay Thompson were engaged in a scuffle. Gobert and Green got involved not long after, with the latter getting his second ejection in three games then. The NBA fined the other parties involved to the tune of $25,000.

Green claimed afterward it was an unintentional hit. It remains to be seen how the NBA reacts to this latest episode starring the Warriors’ No. 23.
