The FIBA 3×3 Colorado Challenger 2023 came to an end with an exceptional team booking their spot at the top. The final was played in a high statement fashion, with the game having its moments of highs and lows. The fire of enthusiasm was clearly visible in the eyes of the players, and a challenging game kept the fans biting their nails, shaking their legs. As the anxiety of people was on top charts, this team from Puerto Rico came out victorious, booking them a spot at the Abu Dhabi Masters.

The Colorado Challenger took place on 7th October, with several teams competing in the challenge, all participating to get to the top and qualify for Abu Dhabi masters. Top three teams from the Colorado Challenger have all qualified for the prestigious tournament.

Picking up their major win of the season, San Juan defeated Omaha in the finals, establishing dominance and taking over the top spot in Colorado Challenger. At the beginning of the game, San Juan asserted their dominance over Omaha. However, it was a short-lived one.

The score was 7-2 in the favor of San Juan. But soon the dominance came to an end when, by 35:55, the score was tied down to 7-7. James Parrott of Omaha showed up for his team and getting his team to a lead at 10-11. Trey Bardsley made a two-point shot to lead Omaha by a point.

San Juan didn’t let it go

The lead did not go far when Antonio Ralat decided to shine brightly and got the lead back for San Juan. This was the final nail in the coffin as, after such a dominating run of play from San Juan, Omaha tried to recover but couldn’t. The final game stopped at 21-16 with the Puerto Rican side emerging as champions of the Colorado Challenger. Omaha was dominating the Colorado Challenger with an unbeatable streak. They played 4 games, won it all except the final. San Juan, even though had a successful run, they still faced quite a handful of challenges. Now that they have qualified for the Abu Dhabi masters, the team will be trying to keep the performance consistent.

The Colorado Challenge did not end in a complete disappointment for Omaha as well. Both the teams have qualified for the Abu Dhabi masters. With the tournament coming close, fans will be looking out for their favorite teams.
