In most cases, different sports are at loggerheads to outdo each other. However, there are times when those boundaries are blurred, and rivalries are forgotten. One such instance has been seen this year, as different sports communities are coming forward to remember the martial arts legend, Bruce Lee, as 2023 marks 50 years of his passing. Such was the impact of this martial arts legend that even decades after his demise people apart from martial arts enthusiasts still remember Lee and his teachings.

Recently, NBA’s Golden State Warriors prepared a video as a way of paying tribute to Bruce Lee. NBA or the Golden State Warriors, in particular, have no direct link to Lee. However, Lee’s teaching is what the Warriors try to live by. Therefore, it is natural for them to respect, honor, and remember their teacher.

The San Francisco-based American Basketball team, Golden State Warriors, recently posted a video on various social networking platforms to remember the great fighter, Bruce Lee. Klay Thompson and James Wiseman were the first to recite one of Lee’s quotes in the video. The two players, one by one, read, “The successful warrior is the average man with laser-like focus.”

Following them was DiVincenzo, who said, “You know this speaks to me because like kind of you just come in every day and you work just having that locked-in mentality, and when you have that laser-like focus, that’s where the success comes from.” To this, Wiseman added, “If you have a concentration on a certain aspect like your professional field, then I mean you are most likely to succeed. So you just got to make sure you master one thing at a time.”

“The mind is a fertile garden. It will grow anything you wish to plant beautiful flowers or weeds.” After reciting another one of Lee’s quotes, Moses Moody added, “That’s just life right there. Whatever you put your mind to, whatever you focus on, that’s what you’re going to see.”

Following this, their coach mentioned that mindfulness is something the warriors talk about as a team all the time. If one can focus on the positive aspects of one’s life, one can ultimately cultivate a healthy outlook. But one should just try to keep the weeds out and grow the flowers.

Klay Thompson ended the video just like he started. The forward concluded, “Bruce Lee is a master of his body and mind, and he has incredible teachings that apply to everyday life, so thank you, Mr. Lee, for your teachings, and that’s why I love them.”
