In lieu of the significant contributions of American martial artist Chuck Norris to the MMA domain, he is hailed as a pioneer in the industry. Apart from earning a black belt in various combat disciplines, he also founded his own, Chun Kuk Do. However, he once felt helpless, despite his unquestionable fortitude.
In an interview on YouTube, he once opened up about a time when his wife was in labor and the intense emotions that followed. Unlike Norris’s usual persona, he revealed that he felt pretty helpless at the moment. What really went down there? Let’s find out more about the episode.
Chuck Norris once felt powerless

Talking in an interview for ‘Hero and Terror’, the 82-year-old actor once got candid about his emotions while his wife gave birth. He narrated the instance as a “helpless” point of his life. Additionally, he admitted to feeling unsteady and had to flee the scene to get himself together. “I’m not knowing what to do to help her, and here I’m a karate fighter,” the actor disclosed.
Norris stated he stood beside his wife as she underwent labor. Overwhelmed by her pain, he tried to console her, but all was in vain. Hence, the mighty fighter felt feeble and vulnerable. Furthermore, he added, “As I’m looking down at her trying to console her, I felt that the blood draining from my face and I felt myself getting lightheaded…”
He continued, “… and had to go to the bathroom put water on my face.” Even though the U.S. Air Force veteran was trained to tackle stern scenarios, dealing with childbirth stood as an unexpected challenge for him. Nonetheless, this is not the first instance of him getting sweaty in a non-karate situation.
Norris once faced his worst fear
As per an interview with CBN, the pro once opened up about a stage fright episode while giving a demonstration in front of 400 spectators. Justifying his terror, he stated it was something he was deprived of in his childhood. Apparently, his single mother brought up Norris. Thus, due to the absence of a fatherly figure, he grew into a shy and non-athletic individual.

“I was able to crack that egg of insecurity that I had carried around for 21 years by doing that. I kept forcing myself to keep doing that, and eventually, I was able to overcome it,” he recounted.
