Over four decades of slapstick comedy and display of acrobatic fighting style gained Jackie Chan eminent recognition. In fact, his effort to bridge the East and West with his martial arts earned him a huge fan base. Celebrities often have to face bizarre fan obsessions, and Chan was no exception to that. While logging every nook and cranny of his life in his memoir, Chan dedicated a chapter named ‘For the fans’ to his fandom. In it, the Hollywood star got candid while talking about the vivid memories he gathered from the followers over the course of his career. He started with an anecdote about a fan who used to tattoo all of Chan’s movies on his body.

Addressing him as the “legendary ‘tattoo guy'”, the martial artist recollected meeting this guy in Shenyang while on a publicity tour of the Chinese Zodiac. Chan went to the movie theater to meet and greet the public, where he also saw the guy. Later, as the actor recounted, “This man had been a fan for many years, and the names of many of my films were tattooed on his back. He?d just added Chinese Zodiac to the list.”

As per his book, the guy approached to meet him with his child, whom Chan gifted a padded jacket. The tattoos were indeed proof of the fan’s obsession. Although, no one could match the fan who used to slap Chan every time she met him.

Chan got smacked by a fan
Being famous has always been both a help and a hindrance for the martial artist. While his fame helped him build a fandom of his own, it also created a chance of being followed everywhere and receiving bizarre gestures. Likewise, he met a fan at a Christmas party in Hong Kong who slapped him while taking an autograph.?
In fact, that was not the first time she did it; she used to follow him everywhere for years and repeated the same gesture every time. This left the actor stupefied, and he once asked the girl the reason behind her attack. Startling everyone, she revealed, “Now I?ve proved that you remember me, so he?ll remember me, too.?
