According to reports, Tom Brady, probably the biggest name in the NFL and one of the greatest athletes across the world, is retiring from football. Brady, who played as a quarterback in the NFL, will not come on the pitch again. But do you know, apart from being a football great, Brady has also played baseball in the early stages of his career?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback will be retiring from football after playing 22 seasons in NFL. After this season, football fans will not be able to see NFL’s greatest player on the pitch anymore. Brady played football till the age of 44 years old and defied the age with his gameplay.

Almost every fan believes that Tom Brady was born to be a football player. And why not? There is nothing left in football that he has not achieved. But, when the quarterback was in the early stage of his career, he used to play baseball too.

Way before playing football, Brady was one of the MLB drafts picks by the Montreal Expos in the 1995 season. At that time, Brady was only 17 years old. The Montreal Expos selected him as the 507th pick in the 18th round of that year’s MLB draft.

In high school, Brady played varsity baseball for two years as a left-handed catcher. During this period, he hit 8 home runs, 11 doubles, and 44 RBI with an average of .311. At that time, the Expos were hoping to see a promising catcher with his left hand hitting power on their side. 

But Brady also had another option to switch his primary sport from baseball to football. And it was the Expos players who convinced Bardy to switch to football, as they believed it would be better if he goes to the University of Michigan to pursue his football career.

Later, the NFL legend decided to take the risk and switched his sporting career. Brady went to play football and pursued his role as a quarterback. And the rest is history. He went on to win a record seven Super Bowls in NFL, six for New England Patriots and one for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
