Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez has been one of the most intelligent players in the history of Major League Baseball. The New York Yankees great knows the game of baseball like nobody does in today’s time. Though his image is more like a controversial figure in MLB, he knew exactly what to do when he took the field.

Off late, baseball games have come under scrutiny and criticized for being extremely lengthy. Notably, a normal baseball game lasts around four hours, while in the same amount of time, at least three basketball games and two soccer games can be played.

Hence, many believe change is the need of the hour in MLB, or else it won’t be long until this game reaches a dead end. Weighing his opinion on the same, A-Rod suggested some changes that might actually help the game grow in the coming times.

For many at times, Major League Baseball games can be lengthy and boring. But with a few changes, these games can turn the heat on. Earlier in 2018, Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez opened up about how to ‘save’ baseball. Truly, he had some fascinating suggestions that MLB might take into consideration someday.

Will speaking with American entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk on a podcast, A-Rod suggested that with quick access via mobile phones, these games can be more interesting. He suggested turning these marathon games into strengths from weaknesses.

“Everyone says baseball is too long. We have all heard that,” A-Rod said. “Baseball seasons are too long, and Spring training is too long. The Baseball games are three and a half hours. Talking about reverse engineering Gary, how about this, let’s use our marathon season for strength, not for weakness.” 

Especially when the prime time game, i.e., the 4-7 PM games, provides the best entertainment. The Yankees legend continued and said that just with a click of a button, everyone should have the access to watch the games, even for five minutes.

“We have unlimited content… 4-7 PM every day, I go to Yankees.com… I press a button and I have 30 stadiums… For me, I’m an enormous Aaron Judge fan, you know Giancarlo Stanton. I can just go to Yankees and go boom!…What person in the world.. is not gonna watch Mike Trout and Bryce Harper every day,” added A-Rod.
