With each day passing technology is getting more advanced across the world. Especially in sports, technology has a massive role to play. And if reports are true, then the New York Yankees are likely to introduce a brand new PitchCom technology in Major League Baseball.

For the first time in Major League Baseball, the New York Yankees’ players wore a device named called ‘PitchCom‘ in the ballpark. And reports suggest that the Yankees players were satisfied with the product. 

If MLB allows, then it is also possible that the Yankees are keen to implement this technology during the league games of the 2022 season.

New York Yankees players used a PitchCom device to communicate during the spring training game

Notably, earlier on Saturday, the New York Yankees were playing their spring training game against the current world champion, the Atlanta Braves. During the live game, the Yankees’ catcher had a PitchCom (an electronic gadget) installed on his left wrist. And between the game, the Yankees’ catcher pressed a button on the device to communicate with the Yankees pitcher, Luis Severino.

The short clip of the said incident is going viral on the internet. Taking to Twitter, Talkin’ Yanks shared the clip, in which one can clearly see the use of the PitchCom device. This is said to be a revolutionary step to make the game even more interesting.

After the spring training game, the Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone sounded like he was in the favor of the PitchCom device. As per NY Post, Boone said, “I think they’re on to something.” Though the Yankees are not the only team that experimented with this technology. Even the New York Mets have tried the PitchCom device in their spring training game.
