Ever since Steve Cohen has taken ownership of the New York Mets, the MLB side has been achieving new heights with each passing day. After a dominating free agency before the regular season of MLB, the Mets have launched a brand new ticketing system for their fans.

Though, it should not be a surprise for the Mets’ fans, because just in 1-2 years, Cohen has taken multiple initiatives to help the Mets become a band in Major League Baseball. And the current free agency is a prime example of that.

With this new ticketing system, fans will be able to enter Citi Field without any paper tickets or mobile tickets. They just have to scan their face and enter the ballpark.

New York Mets roll out contactless ticketing system at the Citi Field

The New York Mets have been working on the facial ticketing system since last year’s August. Partnering with Wicket (a facial recognition software), the Mets will have a Wicket machine at all entry gates of Citi Field. 

As per NY Post, With this new partnership with Wicket, fans will have to enroll and upload their image for face recognition, pretty much similar to iPhone’s technology. Now, fans can enter Citi Field without any paper or digital ticket.

Will new ownership change the fortunes of the New York Mets?

Though the regular season is yet to start, one can definitely say that the Mets have done some serious business in the free agency. Before the lockout in December 2021, the Mets were able to land one of the finest pitchers in MLB.

Notably, the Mets signed Max Scherzer on a three-year deal for a whopping $130 million. While they also hired Buck Showalter as their new manager. Apart from these two, the Mets also signed Starling Marte, Mark Canha, Eduardo Escobar, and a few others as well.
