The Los Angeles Angels are all set for the 2022 Opening Day, as they are currently undergoing their Spring Training. After the end of the day’s training session, the players were asked about a teammate who will be the perfect fit on their dodgeball team. And the most popular name was obviously, Shohei Ohtani.

With the 2022 Opening Day down to less than three weeks away, the Los Angeles Angels are getting ready for a season of complete dominance. With both their star players, Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout, practicing and working together, analysts say that this combination is deadly for the rest of the teams. But despite having a strong team, the Los Angeles Angels were defeated 5-8 by the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2022.

The Angels choose Shohei Ohtani as dodgeball teammate

On Monday, March 21st, 2022, the Los Angeles Angels’ Twitter account posted a TikTok video where they were asking players the question, “Which teammate would you pick first to be on your dodgeball team”? The obvious and the most popular answer was the 2021 MVP Shohei Ohtani. Some players went on to choose the 27-year-old infielder David Fletcher, while a few others elected Raisel Iglesias.

This video just goes on to support the chemistry between the teammates of the Los Angeles Angels. The Angels’ fans just hope that both Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout are 100% healthy for the entire MLB 2022 season, unlike last year. In the 2022 Spring Training, the Los Angeles Angels have played four matches so far.

In these matches, they won two games against the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Seattle Mariners. While they also lost two matches against Oakland Athletics and the Kansas City Royals. The Los Angeles Angels will be facing the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday, March 23rd, 2022, at the Tempe Diablo Stadium in Tempe, Arizona, USA.

If we take the performance of the Los Angeles Angels in the MLB 2021 season into consideration, they finished the season fourth with 77 wins and 85 losses in the West Division of the American League. They faced a lot of injuries and had to make many changes.

At present, if we look at the 2022 Spring Training games, the Angels look strong and promising. And it is pretty clear that the team is working well together. With the new signings made by the Angels right after the lockout, fans are delighted to see the team perform so well.
