The transfer saga of Carlos Correa seems to have drawn to a close. With the superstar opting to ply his trade with the Minnesota Twins for the 2022 season, his exit from the Astros seemed to be an emotional moment in his career. Having been drafted by the Astros Correa obviously had some affinity for the city and the team, and he certainly let the world know as he tweeted his farewell.

Opting to re-tweet fellow teammate and pitcher, Lance McCullers Jr.; Correa thanked both his teammates and the city of Houston as he bid farewell. McCullers Jr. had in turn set out a video capturing Correa’s journey in MLB, from being drafted by the Astros to culminating in a World Series win in 2017, the video features clips of his playing career. Capturing his emergence as a star, Correa bid adieu to the city and franchise that gave him a chance to make it big.

Carlos Correa rarely takes to Twitter. But it seemed as though this was an occasion that commanded his Twitter attention. With the superstar shortstop finally leaving his baseball home for 7 years behind and moving to pastures anew, his journey so far has been interesting, to say the least.

Going from the first draft pick to the eventual World Series winner with the Astros in 2017, Correa’s journey has surely been a matter for discussion. And he made sure he said goodbye, the right way. Re-tweeting fellow teammate and Astros pitcher Lance McCullers Jr., Correa wrote, “Love you brother. Love you Houston”

The video features a montage of Correa taking the field for the Houston Astros as he has for most of the 2010s. Following Correa’s journey from Puerto Rican prospect to #1 draft pick to champion, the video is effectively a highlight reel of Correa’s top plays in MLB. The video is set to a version of Avicii’s “The Nights”.

While capturing a majority of his top moments, at 27; there is surely plenty more that we are yet to see from Correa. And with his switch to the Minnesota Twins, there seem to be some signs that the best may be yet to come.
