Even though it was only a spring training game, Pujols’ impact was visible throughout the match. Notably, the Cardinals went on to beat the Washington Nationals with a huge margin of 29-8.
Possibly the future Hall of Famer, Albert Pujols, was the main attraction of the spring training game between the Cardinals and National. And why not? The legendary slugger is playing for his former team after almost 11 years.

Although it was just a spring training game against the Nationals, watching Pujols play for the Cardinals after all this time was a sight for sore eyes. Taking to Twitter, MLB shared a video of the magical moment Pujols hit his first single for the Cardinals since his return.
Earlier this week, the Cardinals signed the 42-year-old veteran on a one-year deal worth $2.5 million. This will probably be the last season for Pujols in Major League Baseball. According to ESPN, the Cardinals slugger confirmed, “This is it for me. This is my last run.

In his career so far, Pujols has won almost everything there is to win in Major League Baseball. While playing for the Cardinals, Pujols along with Yadier Molina led their side to the World Series titles in the 2006 and 2011 seasons.

However, after the 2011 season, the Cardinals’ star moved to Los Angeles Angels, where he played till the 2020 season. Notably, in 2021, he played for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dominican-American DH (designated hitter) is the only active player in the league with over 650 home runs.
If everything goes the right way for the Cardinals slugger in 2022, he might end up beating Babe Ruth’s record of home runs. Until now, Pujols has 679 home runs registered to his name, and he needs just 35 runs to equal The Bambino’s home run record.
