Recently reacting to a sale of a Shohei Ohtani 1-of-1 card, Durant called Othani the GOAT.

And with the recognition of a season of the caliber of the GOAT comes the expectations with that tag. Ohtani has endeared himself to the Anaheim faithful, with a truly astounding season in 2021, his Angels still failed to make the playoffs, and if that is to improve in 2022, his performances will have to continue. His value, however, is a different matter altogether. And that’s all that counts when you speak about the sale of his NFTs.

Kevin Durant Reacts to the Sale of Shohei Ohtani and his NFT
Kevin Durant, a basketball player for the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets, recently took to Facebook to recognize the sale of a baseball NFT at the standard of Ohtani and how truly valuable it had become. KD, posted the caption, “This guy is the true ” with an article regarding the sale of Ohtani’s NFT. The nature of KD’s recognition would make it a statement that is common in sports parlance.
MLB licensed NFT collectibles are currently sold on Candy Marketplace. Having recently been declared the official marketplace for MLB licensed sales; the website just formalized the biggest sale of a digital baseball collectible in history.

A 1-of-1 Legendary Shohei Ohtani Icon sold for $100,000, breaking the six-figure sale price barrier for MLB NFTs for the very first time. The transaction silenced critics on two fronts. First, the naysayers of sports-related NFTs, and secondly, those that challenged Shohei continued fascination with the market. Ohtani fever has taken the league by storm after his killer 2021 season. A season that saw him not only score 46 home runs and lead the MLB in triples but also pitch a 9-2 record while boasting a 3.18 ERA with 156 strikeouts and 44 walks. Naturally, he was a collectibles phenom long before he made his NFT debut — in the trading card hobby. His Bowman Chrome (Batting) PSA 10 skyrocketed from a market value of $90 in February 2021 to $600 in the current market just on the basis of his performance.
