St. Louis Cardinals Manager Details Albert Pujols’ Legendary Home Run Strategy as He Inches Closer to 700 Record After Blasting His 681st Recently

Albert Pujols and the St. Louis Cardinals are made for each other. The veteran slugger has been signing off the winter so far for the Cardinals. Considering Pujols’ hitting capabilities, one can never count the Cardinals out of the game.

In the 2022 MLB season itself, Pujols has two home runs on his name. If he somehow manages to hit 19 more homers. Then he will be in the company of some of the baseball greats, like Barry Bonds, Babe Ruth, and Henry Aaron.

Reacting to Pujols’ three-run homer against the Brewers, the Cardinals manager Oli Marmol explained Pujols’ strategy to play against left-handed pitchers as well as against right-handed aces.

“He had a very specific game plan. He didn’t get his pitch the first time,” the Cardinals manager said. “But he got it the second time and did what he wanted with it… I think he is very clear about what he is capable of doing to left-handers and he is taking some really good at-bats against right-handers as well.”

Coming to the game, Pujols’ three-run homer could not save them from the defeat against the Brewers in the series decider game. The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Cardinals 6-5 in a close encounter on Sunday.
