It has been over seven years since Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez last played for the New York Yankees. But even after so many years, his love for the Pinstripes has not faded. Notably, A-Rod has spent more than a decade at the New York Yankees.
Lately, the Yankees have been struggling a lot in Major League Baseball. Whether it is in the ballpark or outside the field, the Yankees are going through a rough patch. First, they did not make any notable signings in the free agency, and now they have also failed to extend Aaron Judge’s contract.

Aaron Judge has probably been the best player for the Yankees in the past few years. And now, after the 2022 season, he will enter his free agency. For any Yankees fan, it is hard to imagine Aaron Judge playing for any other MLB team. Reacting to his upcoming free agency, the Yankees legend Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez weighed in his opinion.
Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez does not want the Yankees to lose Aaron Judge
Not only A-Rod but probably every Yankees fan will be disappointed if they end up losing Aaron Judge. Over the years, Judge has become an integral part of the Yankees squad. He has been more than a player for The Bronx Bombers. Given his immense contribution to the team, A-Rod does not want the Yankees to lose Judge.
Recently, talking to Michael Kay, A-Rod opened up on why the Yankees should extend Judge. A-Rod called Judge one of the most influential players in baseball. While he also compared him with the legendary Yankees captain Derek Jeter.

“I think if he becomes a free agent, he is gone,” Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez said. “And there is going to be a very healthy market. I think Aaron Judge is one of the most important players in all of baseball. He is the ultimate Yankee… He is the one guy in baseball that transcends the sport… I mean he is the guy that attracts eyeballs. He is the closest thing we’ve had since Derek Jeter. And I think it’ll be a very sad day if they end up losing Aaron Judge.”
Earlier this year, in the free agency, the Yankees did offer a long-term deal to their talisman. But Judge was kind enough to reject it as he wants to become a free agent after the 2022 season. That way, he will be able to negotiate with maximum teams in Major League Baseball.
