The entire sporting world went into shock when football icon Tom Brady announced his retirement on February 1. He took retirement at the age of 44. With seven Super Bowls across three decades in the National Football League, Brady is probably the greatest quarterback in football history. And one of the greatest athletes in the entire sporting world.

Tom Brady is not only a legend but an icon in the entire sports. From fans to sports personalities across the world, expressed their grief on the internet. Recently, a former MLB player and the Yankees legend CC Sabathia also expressed his views on Tom Brady’s retirement.

The Yankees legend CC Sabathia, in a Podcast with ESPN’s Ryan Ruocco, agreed with the fact that the retirement of a 44 year old athlete should surprise no one. But, in Tom Brady’s case, everyone is surprised, and that speaks of his greatness.

Sabathia agreed when Ruocco said some extraordinary things about Brady’s dedication to the game.

“He has been revolutionary in a lot of ways. From fitness, nutrition, viability, and longevity in the sport, we all not only believed, he could keep playing but he was still playing at such a high level that we just expected him to keep playing,” said Ryan Ruocco.

Sabathia took his Twitter to share a short clip from his podcast with Ruocco and said, “Nothing was handed to Tom Brady and he turned himself into the Goat. Greatness”

Notably, the legacy he built in the NFL was only possible because of his hard work. Brady ruled the NFL in the 22 seasons he played for the Patriots and the Buccaneers.

During his 22 years of an illustrious career, Tom Brady won everything as a football player. He has won a record seven Super Bowl titles, six times with the New England Patriots and one time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brady made his NFL debut in the 2000 season for the Patriots as a quarterback and played there until the 2019 season. Later, in the 2020 season, he joined the Buccaneers and played two seasons for them. During his 20 years at the Patriots, Brady won six Super Bowl titles for them and one title for the Buccaneers in the 2020 season.
