With the off-season opening across the league, several teams could be looking to reinforce their roster. And among them, the Boston Red Sox as well. With the star first baseman offering tremendous defensive cover and putting in some stellar defensive displays over the past season; he also is a handy contributor from home plate. Adding some lefty-hitting to their line-up, Freeman also scores at a decent clip allowing him to be a crucial part of any hitting line-up.
The signing however would be dramatic and could upend the balance between the two rivals. Having already lost out to the Red Sox in the 2021 AL Wild Card Game. The Yankees will not be keen to lose out to a signing so soon. And yet that may well be where the Freddie Freeman saga is fated to end.
