Game recognizes game. And perhaps nothing captured that sentiment more than social media. Wishes and congratulations poured in from across the sports world for the retiring Tom Brady. The legendary NFL quarterback took to Instagram to announce his retirement after 22 years in the League and will not be suiting up come 2022. And with his Tampa Bay Buccaneers out of the Super Bowl, that looks like a freeze on Tom Brady’s super bowl tally. An impressive one at that. While sports personalities all across the nation took to recognizing Brady’s greatness, baseball wasn’t left far behind. New York Yankees icon, Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez took to Instagram to wish the NFL star on his retirement.

Former New York Yankees player, Alex Rodriguez too recognized the quarterback’s contribution. A-Rod put up pictures with both him and Brady in frame from times when they were both young sportspersons bursting onto the scene. The post features several slides with pictures of both of them as well as just Brady.

Even putting up a story with the two on his personal account. The picture features a comparison of the two from an event early in the careers on the top and immediately juxtaposes to a more current photo of the two athletes. With A-Rod now taking on his new role as a business mogul and team owner in the NBA; many expect Brady may also expand into other endeavors not solely related to football.

Tom Brady announces his exit

The NFL great took to Instagram to announce his retirement on Tuesday. Announcing his exit on Instagram , Brady quoted the reason saying that he was, “not going to make that competitive commitment anymore.

In a series of slides, Brady addressed his long storied career. He thanked several individuals along the way for shaping him to be the athlete he is on the post. Said Brady, “I have always believed the sport of football is an ‘all-in’ proposition.” And with the athlete turning 44 this year, you cannot expect that his body will hold up the same way it had in years past.

“If a 100% competitive commitment isn’t there, you won’t succeed, and success is what I love so much about our game”, said Brady, speaking to his championship mindset in the game day-in and day-out.

Brady is one of the most decorated athletes in the NFL. He has won seven Lombardi trophies, the most championships won by a single player, along with five Super Bowl MVPs.
